Brand Identity And Digital Campaign For Fearless Girl
Why turn a protest icon into a brand?
Rudy collaborated with Odd Shaped Objects and State Street to extend the Fearless Girl’s message beyond her iconic sculpture. The studio developed a cohesive brand identity, logomark, website, and charitable merchandise that felt timeless and empowering, allowing the symbol to reach new audiences through digital and experiential channels.
Insights- The main creative move was extending Fearless Girl beyond the original statue: Rudy, with Odd Shaped Objects and State Street, built a full brand identity with a logomark, broader design system, website, and charitable merchandise.
- Rudy’s own framing was that the identity should be “contemporary yet timeless” and “keep it superbly simple,” using bold typography, a focused palette, and a clear system so the message could lead.
- This was explicitly not the 2017 sculpture installation itself; the case is a 2026 brand extension for a nine-year-old bronze by sculptor Kristen Visbal that was originally installed overnight before International Women’s Day and later moved to 11 Wall Street outside the NYSE.
- State Street used the relaunch to broaden engagement through digital and experiential channels — Rudy designed the website and charitable merchandise, and the brand went public with a free block party in New York on 24 July 2026 with a DJ, treats and AR photo ops.
- Key credits on Rudy’s case page include Creative Strategy by Odd Shaped Objects, Creative Directors Michael Freimuth and Elisa Maezono, Design Directors Nana Nozaki and Andrew Peters, and designer Chloe Farlow, showing this was a coordinated brand-system effort rather than a single-logo refresh.
