Onari Projects developed a temporary signage system for the HSLU DFK Werkschau 2026 exhibition. The design translated the poster’s rhythmic triangular forms into spatial elements, using scaffolding mesh banners to create transparent, grid-based directional signs that merge typography and orientation in a playful way.

The main idea is that Onari Projects turned the HSLU DFK Werkschau poster into a temporary signage system, extending its repetitive rhythm and triangular forms into space instead of designing a separate wayfinding language.
Directional information was built into the typography: “Directional signs emerge directly from the destination names,” merging typography and orientation into a playful graphic presence throughout the exhibition.
The material choice is central to the concept: scaffolding mesh banners, normally used as protective construction screens, were repurposed for the signs, giving the system transparency, a grid structure, and a visibly temporary industrial character.
The project supported a large student showcase: around 300 graduating students presented work across Textildesign, Video, Graphic Design, Digital Ideation, Illustration, Camera Arts, Data Design + Art, Produktdesign, Kunst and Film during the 20–28 June 2026 exhibition at Viscosistadt in Luzern-Emmenbrücke.
The typeface Facility by Malte Bentzen (Optimo) underpins the identity; Optimo describes it as mixing “the extravagance of the 1960s” with a Modernist base, with distinctive curves and slightly flared terminals that fit the project’s spatial, playful tone.
