Exhibition Identity For The Olympic Museum’s Paris Olympique Show
The Olympic rings became the exhibition’s entire storytelling system.
Studio Blackburn developed the identity and key visuals for the Olympic Museum’s exhibition celebrating the three Parisian editions of the Olympic Games. The concept, titled ‘Inside-Out’, draws inspiration from the Olympic rings to connect 1900, 1924, and 2024 through immersive visual storytelling. The work includes posters and visuals displayed across Europe, capturing the spirit of the Paris Games.
Insights- The core point is the "Inside-Out" concept: Studio Blackburn used the Olympic rings as a structural device to connect Paris 1900, 1924, and 2024 instead of treating each edition separately.
- The exhibition, Paris Olympique™ — un voyage immersif, ran at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne from 25 May 2024 to 19 January 2025, with free admission, and was built around a 360° immersive walkthrough of large-scale projections.
- The visuals covered Olympic venues, sporting and cultural trends of each era, legendary champions, and the evolution of the Games, making the identity feel tied to both history and present-day Paris.
- Studio Blackburn created an identity and key-visual system plus posters and associated visuals, which the studio says were displayed across Europe to highlight iconic moments from the Paris Games.
- Mark Jones, Creative Director at Studio Blackburn, said the studio approached the broader Olympic Museum rebrand by "immersing ourselves as visitors" to create "an emotional connection with a vast audience," and the museum’s identity also featured the typeface Olympic Headline.
