Pengguin designed the cover for Vol. 753 of Brain Magazine, Japan’s long-running monthly publication focused on advertising, graphic design, creative direction, and visual communication. The project followed the magazine’s tradition of inviting a different creative contributor for each issue’s cover. To mark Pengguin’s 10th anniversary, the studio developed a “catch and pass” workflow around the theme “Creative Addition.” One designer began with an initial composition, and the team alternated contributions, adding new graphic forms, shapes, and ideas across 10 superimposed iterations. The resulting cover celebrates cumulative creation, remote collaboration, and Pengguin’s decade-long partnership through an evolving layered visual process.
